A Letter from the Pastor - Fr. Jeffrey Hennes
It is with great joy and blessing that I have been assigned to serve you. Coming to Stevens Point with a varied background, I am curious to see how God will use the tools I bring. From growing up in Central Wisconsin, to studying actuarial science at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, college seminary at St. John Vianney, and finishing theologate at Mundelein Seminary near Chicago, I have been blessed with unique opportunities. Along the way I have labored in an assortment of odd jobs in construction, restaurant management, and dairy processing. As a priest, I spent my first two years of priestly service in Wausau as the Parochial Vicar of St. Anne’s Parish in Wausau as well as the Chaplain to Newman High and Middle Schools. Then there were two years in La Crosse as the Associate Rector of the Cathedral, Associate Pastor of St. James, Chaplain to Aquinas Middle/High Schools, Chaplain to the Hmong Catholic Community of La Crosse, and whatever else Bishop decided I should be involved in. Most recently, the last three years have been spent down the road on highway 66 as pastor of St. Adalbert’s and St. Mary’s-Torun.
In this day and age, it is unusual for a priest to have one assignment and I am no exception. As much as I wish I could give my entirety of ministry to one parish, I have been also entrusted with serving our sister parish, too. Another great blessing of my priestly ministry has been in Catholic education and I look forward into taking on a more active role in Pacelli Catholic Schools. To be able to administer the Sacraments is by far the most rewarding part of my priestly ministry and I look forward to ministering to you as your new pastor.
May God bless you always,
